[ Thematic report] Air pollution

by Nadir Huseynov | 03-01-2022 09:56 recommendations 0

The level of air pollution is also reflected in the indicators. Atmospheric Pollution Index (ATP) is used as a general complex indicator that varies depending on the degree of hazard and concentration of pollutants. Calculations made at specific points show that the amount of pollutants varies depending on the form and ways in which they enter the atmosphere. ACI is usually calculated on the basis of the highest average annual emissions. The main sources of air pollution in cities are dependent substances, nitrogen dioxide, benzapyrene, formaldehyde, phenol, carbon sulfide and hydrogen fluoride.According to statistics, over the past decade, the average annual air pollution has increased by about 50%. The production of industrial products is growing day by day, which leads to an increase in emissions from the metallurgical, chemical, oil, gas and coal industries. The volume of thermal energy emissions from gas, coal and fuel oil has also increased. High levels of air pollution have been recorded in major cities. This, in turn, determines the tense overall environmental situation. The general pollution of the atmosphere as a whole leads to climate change, the creation of a "greenhouse effect", which in turn leads to global warming. According to recent research, significant changes in air temperature are observed in the plains of Azerbaijan.
Representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed the Convention on Climate Change in 1992 at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2000, the Kyoto Protocol (Japan) was signed, setting out the mechanism for implementing this Convention. The main purpose of these measures is to reduce the amount of industrial waste released into the atmosphere, which causes global warming and the "greenhouse effect". Climate change is causing changes in all bioclimatic complexes, including G¢ç, which is deteriorating the overall environmental situation by adversely affecting human and natural factors.

Hello Nadir, this is your mentor Hannah.

ATP and ACI, I've heard of them few times but got to know more about it.
Air pollution is in close connection with greenhouse effect, climate change, and global warming. What do you think each individual and government should work on in order to alleviate the air pollution?

Thank you for your great article and please keep up with your wonderful work :) Happy new year!

    Sincerly,
    Hannah

Hello Nadir, this is your mentor Joon.

Air Pollution is a serious problem happening all around the world. It is especially concentrated in regions where industrial activities are high. That does not mean there are no air pollutions in non-industrial regions. Most of the pollutants can be moved via airflow and once it is trapped, and cannot escape, it becomes a serious problem. Collaborative efforts are required to address this problem. Hope Governments around the world collaboratively work on this issue so that we could breath freely.

Well read your article, and Happy New Year.

    Best,

    Joon

    Hello Nadir
    Greetings from Nepal

Nowadays, the quality of air is degraded day by day due to the emission of harmful gases from vehicles and industries in our country. Efficient measures should be implemented from both individual and government levels.

    Regards
    Dolma
