Thematic report ( January ) - Carbon Neutrality

by Sharmila Pandey | 03-02-2022 00:05 recommendations 0

month January - Thematic report

Carbon neutrality refers to a balance between carbon emissions and carbon absorption from the atmosphere in carbon sinks. Carbon sequestration is the process of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it. All global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions must be offset by carbon sequestration in order to achieve net zero emissions. Although the term "carbon neutral" is used, a carbon footprint also includes other greenhouse gases, measured in terms of their carbon dioxide equivalence. The term climate-neutral reflects the broader inclusiveness of other greenhouse gases in climate change, even if CO2 is the most abundant. Carbon neutral activities is the one that has a carbon footprint of zero. Our carbon neutrality is measured measured by our lifestyle and regular activities that results in greenhouse gas emission . some of the most common example of these lifestyle factors and activities include ;

¡¤        Transport use

¡¤        Electricity use

¡¤        Dietary use

¡¤        Purchasing habits

¡¤        General waste

The greater your carbon footprint, the more you contribute to global warming and, as a result, climate change. We may help to reduce overall consumer demand in their businesses by taking individual steps to reduce our own carbon emissions. Many people making minor adjustments in their daily lives can convey a powerful message that we don't stand for 'business as usual' and insist that present practices change.

Activities to make carbon neutral

¡¤    Try a different method of transportation

¡¤ Eat more plant-based meals and less animal-based foods

¡¤         Switch to a low-carbon energy source

¡¤        Rethink your wardrobe choices

¡¤         Choose energy efficient equipment

¡¤        Travel less or smarter

¡¤         Reduce, reuse, and recycle to reduce waste

¡¤        Reduce the temperature in your home.

Hello Sharmilla, this is your mentor Hannah.

Well explained what carbon neutral is and how in real life we could achieve carbon neutral.
There are so many different activities to add than what you've wrote, right? Trying hard to decrease carbon emission and increase carbon adsorption in our daily lives would be the ideal and best way, right?

Thank you for your great article and please keep up with your wonderful work :)

    Sincerly,
    Hannah

Hello Sharmila, this is your mentor Joon.

Carbon Neutrality is a rising concept which is becoming more and more popular among many people. Though it is hard to think of what we can do in our daily life in order to reduce carbon emission, there are still some possible ways we could implement in our lives. It includes possibilities which you have mentioned in you article, including improving energy efficiency, changing room temperature, and so on. It should not be limited to thoughts and should be put to action. It would be nice to write an article for February's topic!

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
