Strawberries are way too expensive here. In addition to this, the ones for sale are not wonderfully sweet at all. So I made up my mind to grow strawberries on my own, and it has been two weeks since I planted 10 strawberry plants in my garden. It is the first time I¡¯ve been growing those small fruits, and I hope it¡¯ll produce fruit soon.
It is easy to grow strawberries, and they don¡¯t require any special space, so they can be grown even in jars and hanging baskets. Strawberries can be grown from seeds and transplanting or buying strawberry plants. It can be more difficult to grow with strawberry seeds. In winter, strawberries die and start growing when the soil is warm. They require more than eight hours of sun. Before growing strawberries, it is important to determine the variety of strawberry plants you want to grow. Whether you start with a seed or a plant, growing successful strawberry plants results from good fruit production. Homegrown strawberries taste much better than purchased ones, and they can save some money, too. * Depending on your growth zone, plant strawberries in the spring or fall. In-ground gardens raised beds, and containers are all great places to plant. *While strawberries are establishing, it¡¯s better to water them regularly. Try to water all plants, especially on dry days.*Try to avoid wetting the leaves and weekly water plants with 1 to 1.5 inches of water. * Keep plants nourished with a continuous-release fertilizer to get a crop. * Plant strawberries 18 inches apart to allow space for runners. https://strawberryplants.org/growing-strawberries/ https://bonnieplants.com/blogs/how-to-grow/growing-strawberries |

Hello Sara, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
I want to try the strawberries you grew! They must be delicious. Strawberries are very expensive here. So they are in Korea, too. I do not know why, but the price of them has been increasing every year. Compared to the past, now It feels kind of special to eat strawberries, due to the high price. I used to cultivate a little farm with my family, when I was an elementary student. We cultivated cabbage, garlic, chili! They can be cultivated with relative ease! I hope that I will run my own little farm someday.
Thank you for the article!
Regards,
Chelwoon

Hello Sara, this is your mentor Joon.
Did you know that growing the food in home could help reduce greenhouse gases? It is hard to relate, but as transportation process, which are mostly done using means that emits green house gases, is reduced or becomes zero stage, significant portion of gas emission is reduced. I am also growing crops on my own including lettuce and sesame in order to practice the reduction of greenhouse gas. Please update us with your farming!
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon

Hey Sara,
Great initiative. Indeed the prices of strawberries in my country is very high as well as we import most of them. It really inspired me to grow a strawberry plant of my own. My mom used to tell me that, ¡°Start with small steps and it will eventually grow.¡±
It??s always so good to see ambassadors making a difference in their society. Also do give us an update when the plant starts bearing strawberries.
Great going,
Best,
Risav.
