Soil Pollution We usually term water as life and attribute air to our health. However, we less recognize soil yet it¡¯s the mother of them all. The quality of soil determines the quality of food, water and the air we consume. With most foods directly or indirectly produced from the soil, If the soil is contaminated then production will be low leading to famine in most instances. In other words, pure soils are the reason for increased food production, healthy water and air required by living Organisms for survival. Notably, being a finite resource, its loss is never recoverable within a human¡¯s lifespan. Functions of soil
Major cause of soil pollution
Effects of soil pollution
Note: The effects of soil pollution affect all forms of life as they are interdependent. That is, contaminated soil will be released into the ground water which further enters plant tissues. Such plants will later be fed on by animals consumed by human beings. The contamination can therefore be said to contribute to a food chain effect. Mitigating soil pollution With human beings the major cause of soil pollution, it is therefore us to change our behavior to the better so as to prevent it. If we are too ignorant then at least for the sake of the food we eat, lets protect our soil! Also, take into consideration the facts below before deciding to be a major contributor of soil pollution:

Hello Roselyne, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
Well arranged article about soil pollution! You mentioned 4 effects of soil pollution, but I would like to add on one more effect. Soil pollution is the complex issue. We should consider many aspects when we deal with this pollution. When hazardous chemical wastes are dumped and buried in the ground, there is a possiblity that they will drift into a nearby rivers or lakes!
We have developed many different types of soil remediation processes, and some of them are about utilizing microorganism to decompose pollutants. However, most materials are non-degradable. This is the reason why we should take care about the second major cause mentioned in your article.
Thank you for the article!
Regards,
Chelwoon

Hello Roselyne, this is your mentor Joon.
No matter how important the soil is, not many actions are being done probably because it is invisible. There are no clear signs of pollution, but in the inside, it is affecting the environment as it is easily related to other kinds of pollutions including water and air pollution. It is very hard to mitigate soil pollution, and best way to do so it to prevent the soil pollution by restricting the influx of pollutants in the first place.
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
