Green Certification Programs

Green certification is a system used to indicate the level of environmental friendliness for businesses and real estate properties. This involves environmental certification schemes.

An environmental certification scheme is a third-party assessment of your business practices as they relate to environmentalism and sustainability.

Benefits of this include: incorporating environmental policy Into business strategy, improving stakeholder investment In environmental activity, saving Time And Money, identifying weaknesses in a company¡¯s environmental policy.

Generally, the program contributes to effective mitigation of climate change and to growth of a green economy.
Unfortunately, this concept is not popular in Uganda. Therefore, a lot of work needs to be done.

Hello Vivian, this is your mentor Chelwoon.

You pointed out a very important benefits of green certification programs! With these, companies can be assessed and monitored by a third party in terms of environmental impacts! Another benefit is that it can encourage both companies which sell products or provide services and customers to guide better actions for the environment. I hope other developed countries will support developing countries so that all people will live in a sustainable world

    Thank you for the article!

    Regards,
    Chelwoon

Hello vivian, this is your mentor Joon.

There exists different certification programs around the world or within the nation. The certifications are given by government authorities or some third party organizations depending on the severity of the impact caused by the certifications. For instance, once regarding the emission of chemicals to river, it should be done by government authorities. For certifications regarding electric efficiency, it could be done in third party test centers. There were studies which showed the actual effect of such certifications programs to be very positive, and therefore should be implemented to more countries.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon
