As Climate change is continually bombing our only living earth from all directions, there¡¯s is also need that man should employ all sorts of possible fight back techniques. The war against climate change needs harmonious integration of a variety of approaches. And Green Certification Programs are one of them. Green Certification Programs are a set of instituted parameters which set specific standards to particular products or services in order to see to it that nature is not played down in the production and supply chains. These programs usually are controlled and run by bigger bodies and usually work at either national, regional, continental or global platforms. Most of the times Green Certification Programs are funded and supported by governments to which they are bound to serve. They may also be funded by the corporate world entities to which they are bound to. On this note we can also single down that for a fair run of these programs there is need of political will because most of its activities will need corporation of the governments e.g., judiciary, security agencies and many other arms and departments of the governments. In short, the functions of Green Certification Programs are to set standards to which the concerned players must bound to. The standards are tested and scientifically proven. The standards and parameters can vary pertaining to the phenomena they intend to check. In my country Malawi, the story of GREEN CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS can be incomplete without mentioning the mother body; MALAWI BUREAU OF STANDARDS[MBS]. This body was instituted in the year 1993, With the purpose of overseeing food production and supply chain coming in and out of Malawi country. Among others its programs include the following; EXPORT QUALITY CERTIFICATION SCHEME. This program seeks to check the standards of export products. IMPORT QUALIY MONITORING SCHEME. This program seeks to oversee the standards of imported products. STANDARDIZATION, QUALITY ASSURANCE, ACCREDITATION AND METROLOGY [SQAM]. This program is under construction with support with the European Union. Once completed, the program with help Malawi exports to be able to sell in other countries without being re-examined. On top of this mother body, it will also be fair to mention MUSLIM OF MALAWI HALAAL DERPARTMENT. This entity checks standards of food and beverages in relation to the religious guidelines. However, although it is a purely religious body it also enhances other parameters important for green living and it is dependable by many people. In conclusion, GREEN CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS should be reinforced and supported as they are controlling keys in the mitigation of the rapid growing climate change. REFERENCES; WWW.MBSMW.ORG |

Hello Happy, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
It is required to monitor all phases, including export and import, in a value chain when it comes to running a green certification program. We have to not only make and develop new green certification programs, but also monitor all aspects continuously. If we are careless with the latter, it could be rather a massive headache.
Thank you for the article!

Chelwoon

Hello Happy, this is your mentor Joon.
It is interesting to see that there exists some measure in export and import processes! In my country Korea, it is not done during the export and import, but rather done on the test sites before it is allowed to be imported. I can see the difference there. Though the way it is done could differ, the purpose is same: to mitigate the rapid growing environmental problems including climate change. Hope such programs could be reinforced and gain more strengths!
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
