A Break from a Busy Day Even though my daily life is full of classes and homework, there is a place I can go to take a break from all of that and take a deep breath of air. There is a park near where I live, where everybody goes to take a stroll or walk their dogs and so on. It is called Yang-Jae-Chun. Yang-Jae is the name of one of the districts the stream runs through, and Chun means a stream or a brook. The stream runs through several districts and one of them is mine. It is approximately 18.5km long. My house is amidst tall apartment buildings and roads filled with heavy traffic. I am used to being surrounded by all these concrete buildings, but sometimes miss the tall, green trees I saw so much when I lived in New York State a few years ago. So, when I want to experience nature near me, I go to this park. You can see seasons come and pass when you go to this park. It is famous for cherry blossoms in the spring time. The flower petals flutter all around you. In the fall, you can enjoy autumn foliage of red and yellow fluttering in the air and piling up on the ground. It is beautiful. Since there is a stream flowing in the middle between two sidewalks, you can see a school of fish and cross it by a bridge or stepping-stones. Nature is good for us. I feel I become more fit and healthier walking amongst the trees and water. It is also good for the eyes to see the color green instead of the laptop monitors. I am able to calm down and relax from a busy, hectic day. Everything slows down when you¡¯re in nature. I so appreciate the park near my house. It is so important to have trees and parks in cities and must never be removed or reduced. I hope we don¡¯t ruin our chance to preserve this beauty. |

I pass by Seoul Children's Park often when my mom picks me up from my school.
My school is in Gwangjingu.
My mentors are really near me. :)

Hello Seoyoon, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
I have been there several times with one of my friend on the way to the futsal stadium in Seocho. That scenery seems like more attractive as it gets dark! I live in Gwangjin-gu, and my favorite place for taking a break is ¡®Seoul Children??s park??! I visit there more frequently nowadays, because I recently started to go jogging every two days.
Thank you for the article!
Regards,
Chelwoon

Hello Seoyoon, this is your mentor Joon.
Oh my god. You live really close to me. I always enjoy strolling around Yang-Jae-cheon and recognize the place of the photo! I believe it is near the border of Gangnam and Seocho! It is full of exciting nature, sculptures, and themes! I even have story highlights about Yang-Jae-Cheon on my Instagram account. Gangnam and Seocho district put quite amount of tax on organizing different events on the river. I once had chance to participate on classic festival!
It is really nice to see someone sharing same feeling in this community!
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
