Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) belongs to the plant family called palmea or palm family. On commercial basis, both the oil and the kernel are important. The oil is obtained from the mesocarp and the kernel from the endocarp.
The fruit is called a drupe. Oil palm is an oil crop. We have three(3) varieties of oil palm which are: Dura, Pisifera and Tenera. Dura variety has a thin mesocarp, thick endocarp with a large kernel. It is genetically homozygous. Pisifera variety has a thick mesocarp i.e it contains very little oil content, there is the absence of endocarp with small kernel. It is genetically homozygous recessive. Tenera has a thick mesocarp, thin endocarp with moderate sized kernel. It is a cross between Dura and Pisifera and is capable of producing both the oil and the kernel. It is genetically heterozygous. Hello Adetomiwa, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
There are different types of oil, and they have their own benefits. I use avocado oil the most in all foods that need oil. What benefits does oil palm have? I would like to read your thought on why you decided oil palm as the topic of your free report!
Thank you for the article!

Hello Adetomiwa, this is your mentor Joon.
I have once seen oil palm when I was living in Mexico and Mozambique. I believe the palm oil which is widely used on frying the ingredients comes from the specific specie of the oil palm. Hope you can elaborate more on this article. Rather than just simply writing down the information, how about including more of your opinions?
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
