[Land] SOIL POLLUTION ( Ambassador Report for April 2022) Soil Pollution (April) Soil is the natural resource of the planet and provides us with food, fiber and fuel, as well as housing for over 7 billion people. In addition to being a natural resource, soil is also an ecosystem that has been exploited since ancient times. Ancient civilizations used soil as a raw material for building projects such as pyramids and temples. Since ancient times, humankind has polluted the natural resources it has used to such an extent that the majority of them are now harmful to our health and ecosystems. Pollution affects all aspects of life on earth and its consequences are dramatic. Soil pollution is a complex phenomenon, with many things and activities affecting soil, from discarded cigarette butts to overuse of chemical fertilizers. , will lead to serious soil pollution. Accidental diffusion of pesticides into the environment, commonly referred to as pesticide drift, can cause a variety of environmental problems, including: B. Water and soil contamination. Unsustainable agricultural practices that reduce soil organic matter may help bring pollutants up the food chain. Agriculture has caused significant soil erosion since ancient times which leads to desertification and loss of fertile land where many species live. To produce food, farming uses up natural resources such as water, fuel and fertilizers; resulting in pollution of these resources. Pollution affects all aspects of life on earth; however; we must treat contaminated materials before transferring them back onto the natural world since it¡¯s dangerous for living organisms when treated materials are transferred into nature¡¯s system. To end global warming caused by industry producing greenhouse gases, every nation must implement strict regulations on their industrial sectors ensuring no more damage happens to the planet¡¯s resources . |

Hello Ankit, this is your mentor Chelwoon.
Soil pollution is one which we cannot easily figure out due to its characteristics. Even if technology develops and regulations are established, unless we encourage and involve the locals, we can not solve any type of pollution. We should continue to prepare adequate plans which should be put into action immediately.
Thank you for the article!

Chelwoon

Hello Ankit, this is your mentor Joon.
Soil pollution is a serious type of pollution which people often dismisses as it is not really visible. However, it is connected to various pollutions and should be adequately controlled.
It was a pleasure for me to mentor you on past 6 months. What I feel, and realize now is that I have not been knowledgeable enough to provide more information related to different subjects. Hope you could keep up with environmental activities as well as your other works. Once again, thank you for following me.
Well read your article, and let's keep up!
Best,
Joon
