A fossil fuel is a hydrocarbon-containing material formed naturally in the earth's crust from the remains of dead plants and animals. Fossil fuel is extracted and burned as a fuel. Coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels. In present eera, almost all countries get theri total energy from oil, coal, and natural gas, all of which are fossil fuels. We depend on those fuels to heat our homes, run our vehicles, power industry and manufacturing, and provide us with electricity. So fossil fuels has made our lives comfortable but it also brings a lot of negative consequences to the world. When fossil fuels are burned, they release large amounts of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the air. Greenhouse gases trap heat in atmosphere, causing global warming. Presently we are witnessing the effects of global warming like the catastrophic floods in our country Pakistan. Already the average global temperature has increased by 1C. Increased temperature will lead sea level rise. sea levels are rising sea levels will put coastal areas at greater risk of erosion and storm surge. Moreover, melting ice sheets and glaciers will occur leading to soil erosion, flooding. Similarly Water Pollution and Oil Spills,Water table,Poisoning from fracking,Air Pollution and Smog,Acid Rain, Mercury Emission are some other impacts of fossil fuels. References: noaa. Hello, this is your mentor Minkyung.
Thank you for introducing the impacts of fossil fuels! Although they have brought rapid economic development to human society, they clearly have adverse impacts on the environment. That is why we are now starting to realize the need for substitutes and keep on developing technology for renewable energy.

Your report well described how fossil fuels negatively impacted Earth. However, if you were going to make your report more convincing, it would be better to also deal with positive impacts and why alternatives are needed rather than just banning the usage of fossil fuels.
Nice job on writing the thematic report!
