Nepal has been witnessing extreme weather in regular intervals. We have a very fragile ecosystem which is highly vulnerable to extremities. Nepal is the fourth most vulnerable country in terms of Climate Change and usually encounters many adverse situations. Our geography is also very different and gets affected by extreme weather situations and conditions. We are between two big tectonic plates and often experience tremors of earthquakes now and then. The 2015 Earthquake of Nepal was one incident which made people to think about the ways to tackle these issues. The 2015 Gorkha earthquake caused devastation across vast areas of Nepal, killing almost 9,000 people and leaving 3.5million homeless. Many people were homeless and many were forced to leave their houses. It not only afftected Gorkha but also affected all over Nepal. It also triggered thousands of landslides that caused additional destruction to communities and infrastructure – and prompted landslides in the subsequent monsoon season to occur at steeper and higher hillslopes than in average years. However, the most affected region in Nepal is not Gorkha, but its Sindhupalchowk district. Property worth millions was damaged by flood, landslides and soil erosions. Many people are forced to leave their house and settle somewhere else safer. The intensity in which such events keep happening has surfaced now. Part of it is also due to Climate Change. People have started considering disaster management more seriously now. The concept of DRR has also globalized and everyone is conscious in this issue now.

Hello, this is your mentor Minkyung.
Thank you for introducing the extreme weather in Nepal. By including the statistics, I could clearly see how devastating climate change was as well as how vulnerable society is to climatic changes.
Thank you for your hard work :)

I am sorry to hear about the extreme weather in Nepal. I can surely see how devastating those events were.
Your report would be even better if you provided related photos to emphasize the damage.
