The Kiira EV Smack is 5-seater front wheel drive sedan with a fraction powered by a rechargeable battery bank and an internal combustion engine based generator,it is the first electric hybrid vehicle designed with built in power train hence enhancing fuel economy.This innovation and iterative development programme was envisaged to realize KMC’s systems and requisite competences for the relevant and beneficial institutionalization of an automotive industry in Uganda The vision of KMC represents the commitment of Uganda to develop indigenous solutions to her essential needs as being a fountain of the heritage of the Pearl of Africa. |

Hello Mugwanya! This is your mentor James!
I see that you've discussed about a specific model from Kiira, a state enterprise that champions the vehicles in Uganda. I see that this Kiira EV smack is a Plug-in Hybrid EV which uses both gasoline and electricity as its power source. PHEVs obviously have lower carbon footage! Consequentially, carbon and nitrogen oxide emissions would be relatively lower than traditional combustion engines.

What an interesting report! Transportation is an important component of the urban environment, therefore eco-friendly urban transportation is necessary for the future!
I didn't know the Kiira EV Smack, and I was very interested in it as it is powered by a rechargeable battery bank!
