[June Theme Report] Space debris and Pollution |

According to Forbes Magazine, there are about 100 trillion bits of space pollution and junk that is rotating around our Earth. These debri include satellites rockets from space ships, other spaceship parts that are left to orbit the Earth. No doubt, these things are NOT suppose to be orbiting around the Earth.
It would be fine if these debris weren't contributing to pollution and a hazard to our world. These debris infact contain chemicals and different components that can deplete the ozone layer of the Stratosphere, severely affecting humanity as UV radiation can infiltrate into our atmosphere due to the depleted ozone layer. The US and many others are attempted to reduce the amount of debri orbiting around our Earth. There have been development of new devices that can pull the debri into our Earth's atmosphere, making it burn aswell. NASA and the US government are trying to limit the amount of debri they release while missions and satellites. However, it is very difficult to catch these debri as they are orbiting very quickly around the Earth. Moreover, catching one at a time is very inefficient, and may even be useless as removing one out of 100 trillion is not very productive. For the future of our Earth, it is key to reduce space debri. We never know when we have to escape the Earth, and the more debri, the harder it gets to leave the atmosphere as these debri can destroy spaceships and cause obstacles. The more debri, the higher the chance that the ozone layer can be depleted as well. Our ozone layer is the only thing that protects us from the sun, therefore it is vital to reduce debri. Hello Jayden! This is your mentor Yewon.
Before I start, I apologize for the late comment.
You have written a report about space debris and pollution for the June thematic report!
I agree with your opinion that reducing space debris is key to the future of the Earth, and I think the countries should cooperate to solve the space pollution problem!
Thank you for your meaningful report! Great job!

Hello Jayden!! This is your mentor James.
First of all, sorry for the late comments!
In this report, you've explained the main concept of space pollution, along with its causes and consequences.
I agree with you that removing one debris at a time would be extremely ineffective, given that 100 trillion parts are orbiting Earth. Thus, implementing devices that emits strong magnetic waves would be able to attract several if not hundreds of debris, thus either deorbiting the debris from Earth or lowering their altitude to burn it within the mesosphere.
Thanks for writing such a meaningful report! Great work.
