As more and more land is taken away from agriculture for urbanization, the less amount of produce is produced for humans. A huge problem of this in the future is the increased demand for food cannot be met as the population increases.
However, new green technology called vertical farming can help massively in producing more crops and produce and could potentially be the solution to the loss of land. Vertical farming is a type of agriculture that does what its name does: Grow vertically. Contrary to regular, traditional agriculture that grows crops horizontally, vertical farmings builds up. Think of it as a apartment for crops. Vertical farming also is beneficial as is utilizes less resources. Less water, less land, and minimal soil if necessary. Water usage by farms is one of the largest factors in society today, and vertical farming may be able to reduce the amount of water that agriculture uses. The best part about vertical farming is that it can be built on any type of land. When thinking of traditional agriculture, the best, most fertile soil is needed to grow crops. But in vertical farming, you don't need that fertile soil everywhere since it is in a building. Although it still may need the fertile soil, it does not need as much as traditional soil, being very useful as our Earth is in fact losing a lot of arable land and fertile soil from pollution and urbanization. So, yes, vertical farming is a very viable option for the future. It reduces resource usage, stops soil degradation, and most importantly sustains the food demand for the growing population of this Earth. Since most of the land on our Earth is occupied already, why not go up? Photo creds: https://medium.com/@amykwilson/vertical-farming-with-hydroponics-33d689f23ea1

Hello again Jayden! This is your mentor Yewon.
Before I start, I apologize for the late comment.
You have written a report about the future of agriculture.
Since we need to eat food properly to survive, agriculture is very important regardless of region.
Especially, vertical farming you mentioned in your report seems a very helpful and effective way of agriculture, and I hope a more effective way will be applied to increase productivity!
Thank you for your meaningful report! Great job!

Hello again Jayden!! This is your mentor James.
I see that you've discussed about the future trend of agriculture, especially suggesting the method of vertical farming! As you've precisely mentioned, vertical farming enables farming practices to be carried out in urbanized regions with minimal use of land. It also contributes in lowering carbon levels in the surrounding atmosphere and also lowers the transportation costs of the products.
Thanks for writing such a meaningful report! Great work.
