Over 1,000 dead in Philippine Typhoon Sendong

There has been a major typhoon that hit the Philippines on December 16, 2011. It was Typhoon Sendong that hit last week. There were flashfloods and landslides with more than a thousand people were killed. Many of those who died in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City died in their sleep when the floods swept through the cities. The weather agency warned of the coming typhoon, but the people ignored the warnings.
