Dubai's first Green Souq bulit to save 45% energy & 20% water consumption

Dear Eco gen friends,

I am glad to share with you another good news from Dubai :

Dubai's first Green Souq  "The Al Fahidi  Souq" has been built according to Green building regulations . It complies to 67 out of 79 regulations.  It would be opened in March 2014.


It's infrastructure includes energy saving systems , natural lighting arrangements , eco-friendly building materials & insulation methods & other modern techniques with an objective to save 45% of energy & 20% of water consumption.

    Thank you for sharing. I was very curious what kind of building is 'Souq' then I looked up the dictionary and it says 'market'. Well, it will be a great shopping experience in such a market. ^^
