IGNITE 2013 awarded on bottle puncturing mechanism – Rajashree and Shibajyoti , India

This refers my report published here in no. https://tunza.eco-generation.org/ambassadorReportView.jsp?viewID=4839   about  the idea on plastic bottle puncturing mechanism.  On 19th. Feb?14 we ( myself and Shibajyoti) were invited at IIM , Ahmedabad, India and IGNITE 2013 presented by former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. (  Bharat Ratna, Great scientist of India. ) An exhibition of all award-winning ideas were displayed at the venue.  Related photographs are attached here.

 

 

The IGNITE awards are given for the national competition of original technological ideas and innovations of school children every year.

Prof. Anil Gupta, Executive Vice Chair person , National Innovation Foundation told that this year, the competition that was held between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013, had received 20,836 submissions from students of 301 districts in 33 states and union territories. A total of 38 students from 25 districts of 17 states and union territories were  awarded for their innovations and ideas on 19th.   February  2014  at the Indian Institute of Management
Ahmedabad (IIMA).

 

In the lecture Dr, Kalam told us that,

     Nation?s economic development is powered by Economic progress.

         Nation?s Economic progress is powered by knowledge.

         The knowledge is powered by technology. The technology is powered by

         Technology is powered by innovation.

          while technology and innovation are powered by resource investment. He said innovation opens up new vistas of knowledge and new dimensions to our imagination to make everyday life more meaningful and richer in depth and content, innovation is born out of creativity.

 


NIF, an autonomous body of the union government's Department of Science and Technology, has been actively engaged in promoting creativity and innovation and IGNITE is an effort to focus primarily on the creativity of the children and promoting original inclusive and compassionate thinking about them.

 

 Mr. Nitin Maurya, Senior Innovation Officer, NIF had arranged for an introduction session for award winning children. We enjoyed the function and learned a lot . Thanks to all officers of NIF for   their supports and putting their  efforts to make this national level program successful.
