Free Relation Awakening Project - The Do Good Academy's Social Enterprise Workshop in session Feb,2014 |
---|
Most social enterprises cannot fund themselves entirely through sales or investment, resulting in a financial-social return gap. Many social enterprises survive only through government subsidies, charitable foundations and contributions from high-net-worth individuals. It is common to see social enterprises? Efforts on fundraising consume time and energy that could be spent on their social missions. In creating high performing social entrepreneurs, what if we take external funding facilities out of the equation? After attending a joyous session with the Do Good Academy on the topic Project Management, it opened another door for a new outstanding topic on its own, thus, Social Entrepreneurship which was held on the 22nd day of February, 2014. Its main idea came out In creating equipped leaders of the 21st century, who are really determined to prompt out changes in their emerging environments The Do Good Academy in collaboration with The Star Leaderonomics on the basics of empowering leaders of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) came out with another workshop which was very helpful. It showcased a clear picture of how to increase social enterprises? Understanding of their market segments and their respective needs, the ways to develop a pool of high-impact and sustainable enterprises that are investment-ready by nurturing business acumen and increase knowledge of business development and to unlock strategic resources for social enterprises. How could we build social ventures that would generate the financial returns on their own to make them attractive to the right investors and dramatically increase the amount of capital available to them? How might we develop a healthy pool of quality, agile and scalable social entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia that transform markets for social benefit and accelerate their growth to be investment ready? The training Outlined certain improvements such as : ¡¤ Lean Startup Development ¡¤ Customer Development ¡¤ Design & Market Engineering ¡¤ Last Mile? Technologies ¡¤ Community Management Training Outcome ¡¤ To increase social enterprises? understanding of their market segments and their respective needs ¡¤ To develop a pool of high-impact and sustainable enterprises that are investment-ready by nurturing business acumen and increase knowledge of business development ¡¤ To unlock strategic resources for social enterprises Miss Ellynta, as the Director for Social Enterprise Alliance Malaysia. She was among the first to be recognized by the Malaysian government as one of the country¡¯s most successful women entrepreneurs at Galeri Jati Wanita (2003)She was very helpful .The most interesting part of the workshop was when she asked me to take some time and discuss the differences between social enterprises and business enterprises and the classify some companies to show whether they are social enterprises or business enterprises.
