Month-long UAE Green Festival 2014 with an aim to develop sustainable green practices and to promote a more eco-conscious lifestyle , kicked off  on 16^th March and will last until 16^th April.  During this one month festival there would be focus on the UAE's efforts in lowering  the carbon footprint through green, essentially environment-friendly, practices .

The UAE Green Festival 2014 was officially launched  on 16^th March at Al Khalidiya Park in Abu Dhabi under the theme  "Live, learn and have fun in a low carbon world!". The opening activity was a thorough interpretation of the festival's message "Live, learn and have fun in a low carbon world!".

I  was glad having participated  in the inaugural and launch of this festival in Abu Dhabi. To reinforce the importance of planting trees for a sustainable future, I with my friends and few more environmentalists planted  trees during the launch on 16^th March. I introduced Tunza Ecogeneration to them  and  they were really excited knowing about Tunza Eco Gen having created huge impact through global  members and ambassadors. They were curious to know more like one of them asked if Tunza Eco Gen conducts live environment events as well apart from online ones., Can  adults also  be member of Tunza Eco gen , how to  become member of Tunza Eco gen.etc. I enjoyed and took interest in explaining them the details. All of them were eager to create their accounts and become members. When I told them about amazing opportunities like GYELS and me having gone to Korea through such Summit , they were really impressed with this venture. They appreciated the way Samsung is carrying on this venture to nurture , develop and groom budding environmentalists.

It was very satisfying  having  planted 15 trees by our group on this  inaugural day of UAE Green Festival.

During this 1 month , UAE will witness the celebration of sustainability as all sustainable members including prominent malls, schools, art galleries, hotels and restaurants will launch numerous activities during the festival relating to different aspects of the green life in an attempt to promote sustainable practices and solutions in the UAE. The festival, with a plethora of entertaining events and environmental activities like Green Shopping, Green Art, Green Fitness, Eco-Breakfast, Eco-Fashion, and a Green Auto Show. Green Knowledge ,  will spotlight the UAE's immense efforts toward ensuring a healthy environment.
