The issue of water scarcity and its impact on human survival is one of utmost global importance . It was therefore a great experience and learning for me when I attended the 'ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON WATER & FOOD SECURITY' in Abu Dhabi. Held over two days , 26th & 27th , under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water , this conference brought together leading experts on the subject from across the world . This conference was hosted by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research in Abu Dhabi .

It was a great privilege for me , as TUNZA Ecogeneration Middle East Ambassador, to listen to the inaugural speech by His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad , the UAE Minister of Environment & Water and imbibe his vision of a green and sustainable future . As a child activist , this learning will help me to spread the green message of conservation more effectively based on the principles and direction set out in this conference.

For me , the highlight of the conference was being actively involved in the panel discussion on Water security which was led by Prof Peter Rogers of Harvard University and Prof. Seetharam - Director , Institute of Water Policy Singapore. The basic conclusion we reached was that climate change has added to the uncertainity of water availability and made water provision planning more difficult.  The concept of 'GLOBAL WATER PARTNERSHIP' was discussed in detail on both days of the conference and the need for alignment in political strategy across nations was stressed.

I was the only child delegate at this conference . I shared with the other delegates the work done in drafting the Youth resolution at the World Water Forum and the recent projects undertaken in Dubai on World Water day which were greatly appreciated .
