We are executing a school farm project aimed at teaching children how to grow crops using organic manure rather than fertilizers and chemicals. We also intend to raise money from the sales of the crops to help buy some didactic material for the schools. Children will also develop interest for farming which can help reduce poverty in the long run.

We teach children on how to till the soil, arrange the beds apply organic manure and nurse or plant the crops to grow without the use of any fertilizer.

To promote organic agriculture in our community, we do the follow up of the crops planted. We teach children how to take care of the crops and do the harvesting. We also make the children understand the importance of agriculture in every economy. The dependence of Cameroon poor communities in green collar jobs is making most people to abandon agriculture.

Organic agriculture is an activity that is environmentally friendly because soil is conserve as zero chemical fertilizers which are harmful to the soil is used. It is also economical as organic manure is easy and cheap to buy compared to fertilizers and other chemicals.

We have been able to work with nine schools in our Community where we provided them with seedlings and manure. Learning by doing we taught the children soil tilling, manuring and planting of the crops. We still do the follow up of those crops to see that the activity is a successful one.

This will also make children and youths to develop love for agriculture which will go long way to reduce poverty, hunger, food crisis and equally promote sustainable agriculture through the use of organic manure.
