Hello guys!
Have you ever wondered what happens to the tetra pak carton which you drink juice, milk or other beverages from? Normally it would go into the garbage, waste.Well, THAT empty tetra pak carton can be RECYCLED.
Tetra Pak is the world's leading food processing and packaging solutions company. The special thing about Tetra Pak is that they run their business in a sustainable manner, keeping the environment in mind.
The used Tetra Pak cartons can be collected and sent to a recycling agency. When sent for recycling, these cartons are swirled around in a lot of water. This helps them dissolve faster. This process is required to recover the fibre. The recovered fibre can now be used to make tissue paper, printing paper, paper bags, etc.
A little film about recycling by Tetra Pak? > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbKVXR1UAeI&list=PL10C49583D3A632AA A Tetra Pak carton is made up of 75% paper and 25% aluminum & polythene and it is 100% recyclable. However, very few recyclers are available for recycling of these cartons as the general public is not aware! These cartons can be made into notebooks, dust bins, benches, tables, roofs and what not. It is a truly inspiring initiative and is so SIMPLE. I suggest every single one of you to collect the Tetra Pak cartons you use, flatten them and send them for recycling. It would help the environment a great deal. Segregation of recyclable waste is an extremely important step towards a better environment & sustainability.
I hope you learnt something new today. And I hope you will act upon it.

UAE is very active in recycling all such stuff. I'm personally involved in recycling beverage cartons & I'm glad to share that for 2 years in a row I'm among the top collectors of beverage cartons in the UAE.

I dint know that Tetrapack have 25% aluminium , thanks for letting me know that. Environment agencies like EEG , Bee'ah are spreading a lot of awareness in UAE for people to collect and submit recycleables like tetrapacks , papers , aluminium cans. I am a dedicated member of both EEG and Bee'ah and I collect not only from my home but also from my friends/neighbourhood and then give for recycling. Thanks for spreading it's awareness.
