A day in rural area

Bhum Dakkhina, a place in Manikganj District. Rotaract Club of Mahanagar Dhaka decided to organize a health camp. According to our resources we came up with free dental camp and blood grouping program in that area. Our team along with four dentist started early in the morning. After a little nice bus journey we reached that area passing some rivers, canals, agricultural plantations.

After we got there, we found locals are waiting for us in a secondary school. We setup the premises for our convenience to serve them . We enlisted the patients in our directory. People from different age came to have some diagnosis and dental checkup. Actually these people are unable to have medical treatments. Most of them were farmers.

While blood grouping, we faced question like- how is my blood? We replied them with their blood group name, but they asked again is A+ good blood? Then we become astonished that these people even don't know what is blood group. We tried to give them information about blood group.

Around 200 villagers were seen by doctors. Doctors diagnose their oral health and provided them best solutions. But we were unhappy that these people wont take treatment as they prescribed. Dental treatment is costly, they could not afford the cost. Then we came up with idea to give them treatment one by one in dental hospitals. We came up with the idea to provide them free dental treatments too. We are planning for the next project.

As i was there as an activist, i didn't want to miss the opportunity to plant tree. I told the school principal about my idea. Mister Principal was with us all the time while planting trees around the school premises.

Dental treatment is really expensive. You have done a great service by organizing free dental camp.
    Three Cheers for you!!

I am sure these innocent villagers must have been thrilled to know about blood , their blood groups and getting this type of medical service closer to them at their doorstep. An icing to the cake was your tree plantation. Good job , Asadullahil.
