Air Pollution The air we breathe is basic of life. It is composed of nitrogen 78% oxygen 21% carbon dioxide 0.03% and other rare gases and water vapor. As a result of industrial activities both mining and manufacturing, as well as travel or transport and even when it comes to domestic activities, millions of urban dwellers are exposed to polluted air. Carbon monoxide, emitted mainly by car, generators and motorcycles etc. Odors from sewage, garbage, landfills and animal farms. Smokes from burning Nitrogen Oxides emitted mainly by power stations and vehicles Inability of lungs to resist disease Coughing Painful breathing, which causes asthma Eye irritation The pollution of air by chorofluoro-carbons also attacks the ozone layer, which help protect the high radiation from the sun. WHAT CAN WE DO AS INDIVIDUAL AND AS COMMUNITIES TO MINIMIZE OR CONTROL AIR POLLUTION? Write to Companies to voice out your concerns Plant more trees to absorb heat Use incinerators to burn garbage and make compost out of biological waste As a driver do not drive smoking vehicles Create awareness to help educate others on what you do know. |

Yes , Burton , agree with you that industrialisation , increasing private cars on road , are increasing the pollution in air. Thanks for emphasising.
