Study of forest ecosystems and climate change mitigation |

Forest ecosystems are dynamic systems consisting of a natural forest community and its physical environment taking into account the complex interactions between organisms , plants, animals , bacteria, algae , protozoa and fungi , among others, within the community and the flows of energy and materials through it. Their study involves knowing its structure, composition and function of forest land , in addition to analyzing the interaction of organisms of the forest and its response to physical environmental factors and their functional relationships.
The study of forest ecosystems lets us know its operation for that we avoid degradation and enable restoration or ensure ecological balance , keeping a compatible use with the development of the modern man and future generations the sustainable use of forest ecosystems is performed always that returned the maintenance and conservation. 70% of the territory of Mexico is forested, has 50% of all pine species in the world , the thickets cover about 29 % of the country , followed by 17% of forests and jungles 16 % . Forest areas in Mexico are inhabited by 12 million people mostly affected by extreme poverty and marginalization. Forest ecosystems have the ability to reduce greenhouse effect gases through processes related to the carbon cycle , fixing carbon sequestration and reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. As they grow they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and convert it into carbon stored in the tree, also added carbon to soil organic matter and dead trees. That's why determining forest biomass properly in a forest , it is a very important element , because it allows us to determine the amounts of carbon and to mitigate the generated climate change by the consumption of fossil fuels , among others that release large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Within the overall efforts of internationally mitigation, REDD + mechanism under the framework convention united nations climate change arises , including reducing emissions from deforestation, reducing emissions from forest degradation , sustainable management of forests, conservation and enhancement of carbon stocks in forests. Trees are our past, present & future. We must plant 10 trees for each one cut.

Thank you for the well organized report and beautiful pictures. As you pointed out the number of planted trees must surpass the number of cut trees for survival of mankind. And we are doing the exact opposite. Why we can't see the too clear end of our material life style?
