It feels immense pleasure to write that I was able to participate in the launching program of Nepal Energy garden was conducted in my school, Budhanilkantha School. The Nepal Energy garden project is basically the promotion of planting trees from which bio fuels can be made, the plant is called Jatropha curcus, and it is like the palm oil from which the diesel can be made. It has got more specialties it can be grown in the barren land with poor quality soil. The garden will be made in the Terai plains, especially the area which are not arable, and will be done in a systematic manner and the marketing. The program will end on 31 March 2015, which began from October 2013.

The program was attended by the British Ambassador to Nepal, bio fuel experts, scientist and various organizations working in the field of environment such as Practical Action Nepal. The program also had the presence of the Professor from University of Leeds as the Leeds University from UK as the supporter of this grand project. Others supporter includes

ANSAB (Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources)

     ESON (Ethnobotanical Society of Nepal)

      Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI)

      Hassan Biofuels Park

       Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO)

The idea for this project was first initiated by the Leeds University graduates from Nepal and now currently the university and the government have agreed to collaborate for the project.

The program started with the introduction to the program, their approach to the project. Then the representatives from the University, the organizations said responsibilities and duties to the project. Power point presentations were carried out and it became easy for the audience to catch what they were saying and the program was really organized.

After listening to all presentations the audiences were allowed to ask question if they any, and indeed this session went well as there were two way discussions and it was really fruitful one. After the program was over there was refreshment program and there as well people interacted a lot about the program. I along with my friends was able to get more information of the project.

Thanks for sharing about this great Nepal Energy Garden project. Undoubtedly , tree plantation is at the helm of all environmental events. Trees are the lifelines for Mother Earth and we must use every possible opportunity and plant more and more trees.
