WILL OUR TEAM WIN?

by | 30-06-2014 10:01 recommendations 0

Let us go back a little. In the early hours of the first week of March this year, a dream quite beautiful came true for thirty-seven passionate and curious youngsters from different parts of the world who at the time, had just been appointed as Regional Ambassadors to their respective countries for Tunza Eco-Generation. I, being one of the privileged few, certainly couldn't deny the joy even as much as you couldn't too.

For twenty-three others however, it was the beginning of another long mile journey into positive contributions to the protection of global natural environment as carriers of the voice of the universe at an international level. In sum, sixty youth became emissaries of earth.

But let us fast forward to four months after then.
It is June already and the end of it as a matter of fact. I'm quite concerned about how much work we have done in the past four months of our appointment and much more, our collective and individual plans for the remaining two months.

There is no denying the fact that we have been doing impressively and commendably as can be seen in the very interesting articles written by ambassadors and more importantly our inspiring eco-friendly monthly activities. Truth be told, your works inspire me!

However, as our tenure as the 12th Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors draw to a close, may I plead for the rekindling of our passion for our duties as emissaries of earth by way of committing ourselves to actions in our local communities which would inspire change and create a chain of activities that would protect our countries' environments even after we have completed our tenure?

For in this lies our greatest opportunity to impress our seal of resilience and commitment to nature on the minds of the peoples we represent here. We have a choice of winning as the best set of ambassadors ever. We have a choice of becoming the examples for future sets of Eco-generation Ambassadors to emulate.

Two months, friends, we can still achieve more than we have in the last four months.  That is why I have for instance, launched in Nigeria, two environmental projects for the very first time in the history of the country. The first is "ECO-NAIJA PHOTO AND DESIGN CONTEST" for all young Nigerians and the second is the "GREEN NIGERIA CAMPAIGN."

I believe in our abilities. Yes, we can! Yes, we will!! And together we shall win!!!

Best,

Atitebi Ayomide.

Nigeria.

I agree with your opinion "We can achieve more than what we've achieved for last 4 months" It's the end of half year of 2014. But! I do believe I, we can achieve much more during the 2 months left for us :D
