Tree lined avenues in the city of Chennai

by | 10-07-2014 17:59 recommendations 0

Chennai is the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal.

A bustling metropolitan and an educational and cultural hub sizzling with activity as age old traditions amalgamate with new changes in lifestyle.

With the rising tide of modernity and gentrification in this bustling city, it isn?t hard to imagine that urbanization occurs at a rapid rate.

While this is true, it is also true that a large part of the city, including the residential areas have tree lined avenues that take their place side by side with wire cables.

While taking a walk or while on a drive through the streets, these tree lined avenues are a cooling site to the eye, providing respite from the intense heat that prevails in the city for the most part of the year.

Though the trees do need to be maintained to ensure good infrastructure and easy commutation, it is good to see natural landscape existing side by side with modernization and I hope that they will thrive as the city continues to expand and modernize.

Cities shouldn't stop just being cities..
They should support people, trees, and the environment that we occupy
