Pollution is becoming one of the greatest havocs in this modern era, beating pollution is challenge for our generations. Pollution is leading towards climate change; we are the first to experience it and last to do something about.

Air pollution is something that normal individual cannot see and it is major problem in its prevention and control. In country like Nepal where economic status is low, it is very difficult to convince the people that air pollution causes acute and chronic diseases. An educated person can read what to do, what not to do and can follow the instruction and can contribute to beat air pollution. What about uneducated people? It is a real challenge, to convince people that something that; you cannot see have lots of effects in your health and causing various problems.

What can I do about air pollution is “self-realization” and convince other to realize that it is actually harming us and we have to take action to mitigate it. Until and unless we don’t realize there is no point in listing everything that we can do. We have to think practically and take every small step toward reducing carbon footprint. For example, I am small farmer with 10 cattle, someone told me that cattle are producer of methane which is causing air pollution. I cannot reduce number of cattle to prevent air pollution but I can plant many trees around farm or use bicycle in short distance instead of vehicles. It depends upon specific individual what they can do. An environment minister can do a lot, an environmentalist can do something but a small farmer can do very little to reduce air pollution yet he can be effective than other. Here major thing is realization, if minister want to really work, he can bring provision of electric car or program like plantation for graduation or motivate people to use bicycle.

Every individual here in TEG are passionate about environment and have willingness to protect earth. Here all of us can list what we have to do to beat air pollution. Importing thing is "is he/she really applying all those listed things in practical life ?". 

As a veterinary student and a nature lover I am following every step to reduce carbon footprint like use of public transport or bicycle, less use of non-renewable energy, plantation, recycle and many other. But I believe major task I can do is create awareness among those people who really don’t know about air pollution and teach them ways to reduce their air pollution and carbon footprint.
