Visit to Vedic Farm

by Sainath Manikandan | 02-09-2018 14:11 recommendations 0

I want to share my exciting experience of my visit to a farm. I visited the ?Vedic farm? on July 25, 2018, along with my sister, parents and a few of my friends from different countries like Russia, USA, Germany, India, and Latvia who had come for their vacation to India. This farm is situated in the highway of Puttaparthi to Bangalore and it is owned by Mr. Pawan Kumar and his family. He hails from a farming family. An IT Engineer by profession but after a few years he was inspired to help the farmers, so left his software job and is now actively involved in agriculture and farming.

The overall area of the farm is 10 acres. The farm bears vegetables such as ladies finger, tomato, green chilies, potato, onion, fruits such as mango, custard apple, papaya, and medicinal plants to cure liver and kidney diseases.

Mr. Pawan Kumar showed the 2 cows named Lakshmi and calf Gowri. These cows provided all the vitamins, minerals and proteins that the plant kingdom requires. It has a hump which observes the sun rays and it purifies the blood and its whole body. That?s the reason, the cow?s dung and urine are considered to be the best and natural fertilizers for the plants and trees.

The plant kingdom is known as Vrikshayurveda. It is a systematic composition starting with the glorification of trees and tree planting. He discussed various topics connected with the science of plant life such as procuring, preserving, and treating of seeds before planting; preparing pits for planting saplings; selection of soil; method of watering; nourishments and fertilizers; plant diseases and plant protection from internal and external diseases; layout of a garden; agricultural and horticultural wonders; groundwater resources; etc.

At lunch, the farmers served us tasty food such as millet rice, banana cake, ragi biscuit and jaggery rice in palm leaves. The food provided to us was yielded from the farm. We thanked the farmers and Mr. Pawan Kumar for providing us this opportunity to visit the farm and know the importance of farming and agriculture. We requested him to give us a chance to sow the seeds on the farm during our next visit to the farm. It was a marvelous and unforgettable experience for all of us.
