2018 EARTH DAY CELEBRATION NIGERIA

Hello friends, Happy Earth day Celebration to you! How did you celebrate your earth day.....well great :) To commensurate this year's earth day celebration tagged " End plastic pollution" I decided to look into the users of plastics, who are the people who use plastics most in Nigeria, Children. Most drinks children are given to Schools on Monday, Churches on Sunday, Birthday parties, Campings are plastics popularly called "Roba" here in Nigeria. A lot of these kids do not know how to properly dispose them in schools inspire of how hard teachers try to educate them about it in schools. This is because a lot of them are not in school. So I took to creating awareness to the grassroots, In a remote community located in Abuja. In this community, indiscriminate dumpings is the order of the day, I spoke with the kids and their parents about environmental issues and the care of their surroundings. To my greatest surprise the rate of awareness on this topic is not encouraging.... They don't literally know the damage they are causing when these thrash are dumped indiscriminately. At the end of the day, we had an interactive session and the kids wanted to know more on how to protect mother earth. Imagine beautiful ideas these kids came up with to protect earth, I was marvelled. I'm glad this community gets to learn a lot and showed great support to protecting earth by properly disposing thrash. Thanks for reading!

Education really is a critical factor that should be improved so that more people could be aware of the danger that our mother nature is facing. If only the littlest interest could be given to the youth so that they could take their first step as a nature conservationist! Through the pictures that you've posted, I can feel the enthusiasm of all of you about the eagerness to save our Earth! Keep up your great work :)
