My Antarctic Expedition – My attempt to save our planet (Part 3) |

My Antarctic Expedition – My attempt to save our planet (Part 3) This is a part of my ?Antarctica Calling? series, a story capturing my journey to Antarctica as a part of 2041, in the toughest leadership course on the planet as I learnt how can we save the only planet we have. EXPEDITION TRAINING: MARTIAL GLACIER The hike up a glacier is never easy, especially for someone seeing snow for the first time. The first day of the expedition training had us work in teams, learning knots and each other?s style. The team has to work as a single unit in Antarctica or when climbing a glacier which depending on the situation can act as a boon or a bane. It is strange how all team work and leadership principles you have read come rushing through your brain overpowering every other thought when you know your life might depend on perfect strangers who are a part of your new team. I was ready to risk it though there is no adventure without risk. With a huge smile, full pack of supplies, and my team I started the trek, ready to finally test what I was made of. It would be a special day for me I would see snow for the first time, would walk on ice for the first time and would climb my first glacier, the Martial Glacier. #ShreyakMahajan #AntarcticaCallingShreyak #LEADearthSHIP#TetraPakYouthAmbassador |
