The Load Theory |
---|
Sometime ago, I took my small generator for repairs & learnt something interesting. The engineer explained that my Gen got faulty because I lowered its output. The Gen was built to supply maximum power and reducing its output so drastically dampens [wets] the plug, strains the engine, making it harder to start/pull. Instead of lowering its output/?killing? the gen, He advised me to get a 200watt bulb to draw the power in addition to a laptop, two 60watt bulbs, phones & possibly a fan. Here's the insight/lesson: LOAD THEORY Just like that generator, humans have a capacity, a potential to perform as part of a whole in any team [and we are always part of one team/group or another], failure to create a system/culture that deploys their talents/skills to the maximum leads to redundancy/low morale/shut-down/a weak, ineffective system. So, are you currently leading a team or a you a part of a group, ensure that everybody feels loved, valued, appreciated, everybody contributes meaningfully, optimally. Allow for feedback, diverse opinions, and criticisms. Believe it or not, everyone wants to make a difference, cast the vision, get out of their way, allow them to do their jobs and see their passion & commitment take the team to the next level. #LoadTheory |
