Save the Sharks |

Sharks are at the top of the food chain. They have survived for 450 million years. But now, they are being killed for shark fin soup and may become extinct in a few decades! Do not kill the sharks for their fins. Imagine if you were in there place. How would you feel if someone cuts your fins and just lets you bleed and drown till you die?? The same is for the sharks. If the sharks could talk all they would say is, " How would you feel if you were in my place?" |

Shark Fin Soup must be rejected by the consumers in the first place. No Demand No supply.
We must make all efforts to restore this 450 Million year old species.

I really agree with this. Eating shark fin is not good even dangerous for our health since shark is the top of food chain. Some of them have a lot of heavy metals in their body. :(

Well said Arushi, if we going on killing the top predators with this speed, we can't even estimate our future loss caused by collapse of marine ecosystem. We should stop the fining now.

Every year tens of millions of sharks die a slow death because of finning. Not only is the finning of sharks barbaric, but their indiscriminate slaughter at an unsustainable rate is pushing many species to the brink of extinction. As sharks play a vital ecological role as filter feeders and top predators in the marine environment, they deserve our protection. Let's spread the word around as much as possible to stop killing sharks. UAE Govt has taken vital steps to ensure that sharks are not killed especially for fins.

In some Asian countries, providing Sharks-spin is the most polite way to express gratitude to the guests of weddings. It makes my heart ache. Why is it killing numerous sharks to celebrate one of human-beings the most sacred event, the wedding? Thank you Manya for the article.
