Potential vegetation survey results in the National Park of Mount Merapi (TNGM) found approximately 154 species of plants. The amount of plant species is quite high considering the data capture area is the area in the National Park area after the eruption of Mount Merapi in 2010 ago. This fact means that although the hot cloud engulfing an area, not the entire area affected and the natural succession of vegetation associated with running.
Based on survey results 2010 post-eruption, the most dominant plant species for tree level in TNGM is Pinus. Based on historical records, Pinus not a native species in the Merapi National Park area, because its presence in the region is a result of the introduction of Perum Perhutani.Other types that also have the same history is Accacia decurens. Post-eruption, Accacia decurens grown very rapidly and feared would interfere with the development of other vegetation because it is invasive. Whereas in the southern part is dominated by a mix of natural forests. Plant species is often found in the mountainous regions including Plawangan Turgo is Puspa (Scimaa wallichii).
