Tetra Pak is a wonderful invention. The aseptic packaging can keep milk fresh for months without refrigeration. There are hundreds of products that are given extended shelf life with it.

Are tetra Paks Sustainable solutions? Are Tetra Paks recyclable?

The long term sustainable solution is always one that benefits the environment and Tetra Pak understands this. Many companies bring out new products or technologies that look great in the short term, but do not take the long term effects into account.

Tetra Pak want to ensure that whatever recycling system they put in place has long term sustainability both for business and the environment.

Tetra Pak cartons are renowned for being made from good quality, strong, clean material which in turn makes a good quality recycled end product - usually plasterboard.  Tetra Pak are doing the best with the resources they have. They know there is no quick solution. In the meantime they are working with Local Authorities to increase collections and are having meetings with companies to try and find a solution.

What consumers can do?- Recycle the tetra paks.

This drive of collection was supported and initiated by EMIRATES ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP, in Dubai United Arab Emirates; last year.  I was part of the student body during the Launch of the campaign.  The drive is getting stronger by each passing day and now the group has managed to place Collection Bins in Schools, Institutions and Public Places.  Many workshops have already been conducted for teachers, students and members from the community and now new club is formed with students and youth taking active role in collection and making the drive successful.  I am proud to be a part of this campaign

An important Tip to Recycle the tetra paks!

Recycle efficiently by washing and squashing cartons which would mean that three times more containers fit into recycling containers and collection vehicles. This will reduces overall transportation and environmental costs.
