Waste

Warm greetings from Russia!
Today I'd like to speak about waste. Currently, the capital is home to nearly 6% of the total Russian population, residents of Moscow annually produce about 6 million tons of waste. A large part of household and industrial waste disposed of to landfills outside the city, the rest, as it is not regrettable remains in Moscow.

The Moscow government plans that starting this year, Moscow city landfill will be removed not more than fifty percent of municipal waste, but that urban life will hardly be easier.

Those polygons that are now completely filled, in addition, they periodically burn or "flow", poisoning the inhabitants of the surrounding village?s life.

Moscow athorities plan to close the old overcrowded landfills, and to equip some new, more civilized polygons, as well as four processing plant debris and systems for sorting waste. For this program has already allocated money from the city budget.

By the way, if we talk about "natural" landfill, the situation with them can be called catastrophic.

Every year there is a special operation for the inspection of the sanitary condition of the suburban settlements and the availability of contracts for garbage collection. Of course, violations revealed a huge number. It was installed monetary fines for the discharge of garbage in the wrong place.

A penalty helps to replenish the budget of the city, but again shows how unconscious people relate to the problem of waste disposal. Environment clean depends on our actions we have to remember about it.
