Following recent COP 20 held in Lima, Peru different organizations like Nepalese youth for Climate Action- Chitwan, Nepal Friendship Society, Raise Hands Nepal, Rotaract Club of Narayangarh, TEM etc. jointly organized the Flash Mob in December 20, 2014 with a theme of Demanding Action for Commitments towards Climate Change.
There was active participation of about 50 youths from different above mentioned eco- clubs. We all put on mask to symbolize we have heard a lot,we don't want to add just voices but we want to see visible actions towards climate change. We all hold placards with different messages and pledges and walked silently from Chaubiskoti to Saheed Chowk, Chitwan Nepal (about 1.5 km) Then at the heart of busy city we displayed our messages for 10 minutes to the crowd. Chairman of some eco- clubs gave a short insight about anthropogenic climate change.
The Flash Mob was mainly targeted as a mobilizing youth for pledging global leaders to take action now, tomorrow will be too late and to share common but differentiated responsibilities towards climate action. People walking around asked us about our flash mob and its objectives. We clarified them in simple words. It was my opportunity to facilitate the entire Flash Mob.

It's even more meaningful that various organizations came together for a goodwill and realized it. :)

Wow! Congratulations, Bindu, for mobilizing the movement!
I organised a few similar movements for a mourning for the victims of the Peshawar and a Tree Protection mob a long time back. This is by far the most effective method of awareness propagation. Way to go, Bindu!

@Christy Lee- Thank you for your encouragement :) Yeah the people were seeing our team curiously, they asked us several questions also regarding climate change as many of them didn't seem familiar. We gave them examples of visible effects of climate change and why it is considered as a global threat. I gave interview about the event to media also. Different youth organizations supported the event so actively. Collective effort made it a success :)

Beautiful! You did a real great job, Bindu! I am so proud that you organized the Flash mob there. It's so impressive and I think you are a very brave girl :) By watching your performance, the people on the street must have felt strong awareness on your effort to curve the climate change. Hat's off for you and your team :)

Hello Manav, Thank you for appreciation. It was successful with the participation of all those concerned youths :) It is clear that our generation is aware and awake now, to protect this earth to urge global leaders take actions for environment along with economy. If youth are united globally I can see every change possible. Together we can :)

A very noble and selfless initiative Bindu! Mobilising support of tomorrow's global citizens (youth) is a great idea. It will subsequently help in global collaboration between leaders urging them to address climate change efficiently. Wonderful posters! Thanks for the report!
