My visit to Gavi

by | 14-08-2016 01:10 recommendations 0

In my holidays, I visited Gavi, a village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, India. Gavi's evergreen forests are abundant with wildlife including the tiger, elephants, leopards, bears, Indian gaur, sambar, mouse deers, lion tailed macaque, Nilgiri langur, Nilgiri marten, Malabar giant squirrel and more than 250 species of birds. Gavi is an eco-tourist spot in Kerala which has widely become popular. A must visit place for all nature lovers as Gavi is preserved in its natural scenic beauty untainted by the mighty hands of modernity. As a part of the Sabarigiri Hydroelectric project, I could explore the Kakki dam and surroundings on the way to Gavi, the beautiful and pristine forest retreat. Littering and plastic bags were not allowed in it?s premises. We had to maintain silence too so that it does not provoke animals. I enjoyed watching the nature around me.
