Ramada Hotel & Suites, Ajman is a hotel fully committed to environmental sustainability, minimizes negative impacts to the Mother Nature and promotes environment friendly culture.

I and my friends were given a great opportunity to visit Ramada Hotel & Suits, Ajman and learn their various eco activities to help conserve the natural environment.

The Zero Landfill Project is basically food waste which is recycled. The waste which is coming from the kitchen consists of more than 80% of food. The waste is then brought to the Zero Landfill room. A person is assigned to segregate wastes in this room. He makes sure no unnecessary thing goes into the compost machine, only the organic waste goes into the machine. The waste is fed to the machine manually. This machine works by electricity and runs 24 hrs. It gives 10% compost, which is used in land to grow vegetables. It works by heat. The machine makes the waste dry as vegetables contain 90% of water. The water will get steamed and will go through the pipes out of the room. Since it is water there is no smell and no harm to the environment. The machine recycles the organic waste and at the same time gives water. This water is reused again, for example, to grow vegetables in the gardens. It is then made as a powder form in the machine itself.

The Ramada Hotel?s significant commitment and innovation in reducing waste through its Zero Landfill initiative has helped them to conserve the natural environment in the northern Emirate.
