It's not about ideas. It's about making ideas happen.
Entrepreneurship: sounds new and heavy word for me. Human are always curious on new things and same goes for me. This training lured me as per my curiosity to know what exactly this word meant. Experience speaks more. Let me begin my experience story of 2 days Agro-Entrepreneurship Workshop and Field Visit.
1st day:
When arrived at PG Seminar Hall, preparation was going on speedy mode. Sandesh dai hosted program with his words entrepreneurship obviously can?t be learned in these 2 days? which made me more curious to know what exactly was it.
Sujan dai started program with his session ?Marketing Basics? and I was acknowledged with some basic of entrepreneurship and market. He mentioned market without target is nothing and target must be decided on the basis of costumer segmentation.
Following criteria falls under segmentation:
- Size of segment
- Segment growth
- Frequency of use
- Competitive pressure
- Accessibility
- Fit with idea/vision
He also made clear that consumer, which fits best in above criteria, must be targeted as main consumer and the producer must produce the good, targeting that main consumer. He further added enterprise is sum of business and innovation or in other word, bringing new techniques and idea for making our agribusiness less risky, more successful and more profitable.
Then came Surakhshya didi. She made us clear about the value proportion canvas. She mentioned that there is deep relationship between consumers and producer and their products. She discussed about pains of using other products and gains of using our products.
Prakriti Dhakal, led the heart of session " How to Pitch?" She elaborated this word, it's types and it?s aspects in a very effective way. She made us familiar with this skill (pitching). A very sensible sentence delivered by her was-"the person who does not fear to speak in mass is abnormal and need a medical checkup immediately which built up my confidence level."
Not only this, Shivani didi and Sujan dai made us clear about Business Model Canvas, it's process and importance in a successful enterprise. And the field visit to Jagatpur was also a part at the end of first day where I came to know about the craze for the enterprise in a government service man and his wife who was a former bank manager. It's been amazing to analyze their performance regarding this sector. They were out of their comfort zone to do this yet they are successful.
Beside this a surprise visit to a vegetable farm taught me about role of luck in farming apart from hardship and labour. And this was the very beautiful ending of the first day.
2nd day:
That day was more exciting after the review of first day. We were given a very interesting and effective task for advertising mainly of respective products as presentation. I learnt a lot from this presentation and my skill of pitching was sharpen a bit more which was a grand achievement for me.
The learning's in those 2 days were beyond my expectations for answering my curiosity.
