Bumblebees and butterflies are now struck by the rapid climate change. they have seen their numbers plummet afrer another year of unsettled weather, according to National trust Study reports BBC. the 10th annual wildlife report from the trust said mild winters and bad weather in summer created bad conditions for small plants. As a result these small creatures are suffering greatly. Specific sites have now seen an unexpected change in their wildlife, especially due to surge in grass growth.
Observations at Lytes cary, in Somerset, showed the number of bumblebees had fallen by 85% on the previous year as wildflowers that attract bees were outgrown by grass. At Purbeck, in Dorset, meadow butterflies also saw a drop in their numbers. According the record of volunteers of that area, number of white marbled butterflies fell by 73% and blue butterflies by 23%. Though bumblebees and butterflies are small at size but their contribution is very much needed to maintain the ecological balance. So we should individually take steps to save them from extinction by planting more flower plants.

Yeah, even though bumblebees and butterflies are small, they do play a great contribution to nature. So I agree, that we should plant more flower plants. But also helping maintain these flower plants, so it wouldn't become a waste.
