Pollination is simply a task of transfer of pollen grain from anther to stigma of other flower. It is accomplished by different pollinating agent like bee, honey bee, etc. Among all them bee constitute about 80% of the task. The impact of climate change is seen in huge way on pollination and its agent. Pollination occurs due to the interaction of flowering and its agent. But due to climate change the flowering time and way of pollination of most of the crops are being highly affected. Pollination is an function of climatic parameters like temperature, rainfall and activity of pollinators that is also affected by climate and its parameters. Increase in global warming, change in rainfall and temperature pattern, alterations in the duration of days and seasonal change and many others are directly hampering the insect- crop relations of our surrounding. Some of the effects are: 1) The increase in temperature affects the activity of honeybee and reduces it. As they try to escape the harsh environment so they cannot contribute to climate change. 2) Foraging behavior of insect depends on climate. The no of flower visited by insect per day is affected by climate change. 3) No visit to flower means no seed formation and no reproductive phase of plants. 4) 80% of the pollinating activities in being reduced by climate change and it is increasing the food scarcity of our country. 5) The population of pollinators is also decreasing day by day. So all of us must contribute to protect such pollinating agents. It has already been stated that if there is extinction of honey bee then human will be extinct within 20 years. |

Truely said Prakriti honeybees are the main pollinators of our ecosystem. Efforts to protect them must be done.

honeybees and other pollinators help to produce one-third of everything we eat.we should apply efforts to save them.
