6. Prevent water pollution
Stormwater can be full of phosphorus pollutants and nitrogen. Without trees, rainwater flows into oceans and waters without filtering. Trees break down precipitation and allow water to enter the Earth and seep into the soil. Therefore, they prevent stormwater from polluting the oceans. With the exception of trees, green infrastructure such as the green roof can mitigate the effects of rainwater.

7. Providing shelter for wildlife
Trees also help boost biodiversity by becoming a source of food and a natural habitat for wildlife. One apple tree produces about 20 bushels of fruit per year, which can feed many birds, insects and wild animals. It can be planted on a very small area but has a fantastic environmental effect. The most planted trees as shelters for birds, squirrels and bees are oak and Sycamore.

8. Renewable energy Source
Nowadays, one of the biggest problems in the world is fossil fuels. Except for their toxic properties, they also will not be there forever. Many companies focus on renewable energy sources. If harvested and treated sustainably, trees can become a great source of renewable energy. They are simple to use, have existed since the dawn of time and thanks to intelligent forest management they can become an excellent environmentally friendly fuel.

9. Soil reinforcement
Trees are one of the best partners in agriculture. They act positively in several ways: they reduce soil erosion, increase fertility and help the soil get moisture. The leaves of the fallen trees lower reduce the temperature of the soil and prevent the soil from losing too much moisture. Decaying leaves falling on the ground turn into nutrients for the growth of trees and promote the development of microorganisms.

10. Erosion control
Rain and wind are two main forces of erosion that damage bare soil. When they fall from heights, raindrops gain power and momentum, strong enough to penetrate the ground once they hit the ground. On the other hand, if the Earth is dried up, the wind can do significant damage. Trees break down rain droplets and weaken their strength while roots hold the soil and protect it from the effects of wind.
