Jeju island and Subji Coji

Korea is one of the most densely populated areas on Earth, next to Bangladesh. The air pollution is devastating in metropolitan areas. There are skyscrapers and cars everywhere, and the cities are dull. However, in rural areas, it is not as bad. Especially the district of Jeju island is doing a very good job of preserving the environment.

Jeju island is a clean and green area. It is the largest island in Korea, and it was created by a volcanic eruptions. Even today, there are volcanic rocks rolling all around the islands because of this. The oceans are cool and clear. Inside the water, seaweed, sea urchins, little fish, starfish, crabs, and coral can be seen. This is a rare sight in Korea because the water here is quite polluted. Today, I want to introduce you to Park Subji-Coji in this island. Park Subji-Coji is a very modern and environmental center in Jeju island. The buildings are beautifully arranged, and it is very quiet. Outside the windows of the buildings in Park Subji-Coji, green pasteurs can be seen. Jorangmals, or small horses graze here. Inside, there is a small pond (you can see in the pictur) that is decorated with volcanic rocks. The park is very large, so if you visit, there is so much to see. In some of the buildings, there are exhibitions.

There is also a room where you can see a video of the life of a tree. At spring, leaves sprout and flowers blossom. the tree is welcomed with a warm spring breeze. During summertime, the tree absorbs sunlight and its leaves turn green. In autumn, the leaves loose cholorphyll and its leaves turn into various shades of brown, yellow, red, and orange. The leaves fall and the decomposeres take care of them. At last, when winter falls, the tree has nothing but coldness and lonliness to live with. Yet, it lives with hope, awaiting spring. From this video, people can understand the life of seasons and relate it with their own lives. With this, I hope that they will be able to understand green living as well.
