The Inter-school debate finals conducted by the Emirates Green Building Council was held at the Grosvenor House, Dubai.

Dubai has won the bid to host the Expo 2020 and the debate, whose theme was Expo2020 kicked off with a heated discussion and questioning of the viability and feasibility of sustainability before, during and after Expo 2020.

We were also able to discuss the economic impact an event as massive as the Expo2020 would have on the UAE?s economic sphere, how it would set sustainability benchmarks around the world and how its negative aspects could be prevented or mitigated.

There were also questions posed by the judges as to what types of invention they?d hope to be shown at the Expo 2020 and how the sustainability legacy that is being created today will continue to endure even after the Expo2020 and whether we thought that sustainability and development can working hand in hand is a possibility.

The entire debating session was one where we were able to learn more about the impact various events like these will have on the environment

Our school debated well and swept the second prize .It was truly an enriching experience in which we gained exposure and were given an opportunity wherein we were given a platform to voice our views and opinions on the various environmental issues facing our world today .
