An Organized Approach to Global Change

by | 11-11-2014 08:44 recommendations 0

Hello Friends,

Over the past two months I have been able to discuss several important topics that have been related to how the individual can step up and make a difference in our community and be part of the change in our world. Along this line, I would like to present the series of articles for this month.  This month we will explore the topic of how to create our own organization. The organizations I will be taking about are specifically non-profits and social entrepreneurship organizations. I am sure that being a group of youth who are very effective leaders all of us either have had some experience being part of or even having our very own organizations.

So, fundamentally on the very basic level what does an organization mean? Well an organization to me means an organized approach for an initiative. Any organized team effort to put an initiative into action can be called an ?organization?. I believe that if any of us has truly had the passion to bring change to a particular cause, would like to embark upon a particular initiative, then they have the ability to organize their efforts and start an organization. After all, as a CSR initiative of Samsung Engineering, Tunza Eco Generation, the organization that we can credit this conversation to, was created. So, from large organizations such as Tunza to smaller more local efforts, organizations have the capability to bring change.

The intention through this set of articles is to show sometimes the journey that one must embark on to create their own organization. I will be sharing several stories of creations of groups and organizations that I am involved in or have created myself. The journey to create your own organization to bring about change to an issue that you are passionate about is often times a difficult one. However, it is just as important to realize that the bigger these challenges, the greater the boost in overcoming them. At every step of the way, you can see change happening, as a direct result of your efforts.

As Tunza members, we all have demonstrated passion regarding at least one global issue: environmentalism. Now just imagine if each of us drew inspiration from Tunza?s missions and either became part of or better yet, created our own organized efforts (organizations) to help further them. This type of propagating web of involvement is what is needed to bring change to global problems. Tunza as an organization inspires us, the youth, to take action. In turn we create our own organizations that will inspire our friends and community members to take action and join us. In turn someone else is inspired by our efforts and so on. When we get a global community coming together in this type of organized fashion where everyone is either part of or a leader in an organized effort to bring change to a particular cause, then solving global issues becomes very simple.

However, it is starting that cycle that is often times challenging. We are the first link in that cycle. So, over the next set of articles allow me to explain to you my journey of starting my organizations. I hope that from it you will see some of the challenges and rewards to this type of endeavours and hopefully conclude that the rewards far outweigh any possible challenge. Hopefully, I will be able to convey how easy it can be to put an initiative into action sometimes and how important it is that it is done so in an organized fashion. Hopefully, I will be able to answer any questions that you may have about such efforts. So, join me over the next month as we explore this.

That is a great organisation, Nitish Bhatt. Thank your for sharing. Do you estimate how percentage of success you confidently will achieve if your organisation is established?

@Keoleboge Tsheko: Yes you are absolutely correct! One of the fundamental questions is "what do you do?" and this is closely related to the missions and vision statements of the organization. Check out my latest article for more insight about this and thank you for your comments!

Very well put there Ambassador Nitish Bhatt!I also believe that we can make an impact through our undivided efforts to a common goal. It is also simpler for us to tug others along if we have distinct objectives aims and ultimately an objective.People usually ask 'What do you do?Before joining!!

Hello Friends! Thank you all for your comments and sharing your views regarding this topic! Indeed, feedback and discussion is perhaps my favorite part of the Tunza platform!
@Christy Lee: This is indeed very interesting and true! I truly hope that the day comes that eco-friendliness takes a leap into the world of business. As of now it is seen as sort of a "social" and volunteer effort. However if it can make its way into a business where corporations actually compete for eco friendliness than many of the worlds issues around the environment may be resolved.
@Rohan Kapur: Yes indeed you are right and I talk about the importance of outreach in this next article I have posted! Please feel free to add your thoughts to the outreach ideas I explored!
@Bindu Bhandari: Indeed! Rotaract is an excellent initiative and my involvement with it has inspired me to act...The satisfaction one receives from such efforts certainly does make them worthwhile and rewarding!

Thanks , Nitish , for a very inspiring piece on how's and whats of organisation. You are right many a times we have passion to do something , to bring a positive change but we don't have guts and courage to set up our own small organisation to achieve that change(we become apprehensive of challenges we may come across). Your report is inspiring in that direction. Looking forward to your next reports on the subject.

Thank you for sharing good insight on CSR organizations. I read a trend research book and it reads 'eco-friendly industry will be the norm soon because now industrial development is based on so limited natural resources and raising concern of climate change.' I think this report itself is many environmental initiatives' winning to change minds of researchers, policy makers and CEOs.
