A Human Chain ====in the form of a tree ==- the symbol of life itself ==- an event I initiated

5th June World Environment Day, a day when the whole world unites and joins hands to work for a common goal. Under the large umbrella of environment, people across the globe come together with a sole  purpose and one aim???..TO SAVE THE EARTH.

One of the most important issues facing human kind is global environment. Every now and then, we keep coming across the news of global warming, depleting ozone layer, harmful effects of carbon and such related topics. Nations across the world are holding several environmental meets to tackle this grave issue. Right from shutting down polluting factories to go green campaign steps are being taken to handle the situation. But I believe that doing all of this is great but one basic step that can really bring about a change is to educate and motivate

It is very important to educate the people around us and to create awareness and motivate them to think and act wisely.

Anyone can talk and advise. Many a time, we hear of good advice coming from people around us. When they speak their words seem very impressive but when it comes to action they do not seem to be achieving a balance because the actions just don?t match up with their words. A man can advise a boy not to smoke but if he himself smokes his advice is in vain. Similarly a woman may advise a girl to be gentle but if she herself is rude by nature there is no way she will be able to convince the girl to grow up into elegant lady so it is very important to practice what you preach. I believe in walk your talk.

I being the environment club coordinator at the Indian high school Dubai organized this activity. With continuous corporation from the environment club head, Mrs. Smita Zuting and colossal support from the entire school faculty this year we designed a human chain project to mark this year?s World Environment Day. Since we at our school strongly believe in the concept of educating the young minds, we involved all the children right from grade 5 to 12 as we wanted to spread this message to as many young minds as possible. In my school, we from a very young age are made to realize our responsibility toward the environment and taught the very basic changes we need to make to make our dying Earth, a blissful paradise.

This year The Indian High School stamped the date 5th June 2012 with our unique signature. The girls of The Indian High School formed a human chain depicting the very sign of life itself, a tree as we all know that Trees are important, valuable and necessary for the existence of any living creature on earth. They are essential to life. And as we stood there, all of us, as one united family pledged to save our home, the Earth. It was a remarkable sight most of our teachers came dressed in green to support us

Students of all ages wearing green bandanas came together to form the large human tree and pledged to save the earth by their actions. The message passed was loud and clear SAVE THE EARTH.
