HYDRO POWER ON RISE IN INDIA

by | 27-10-2016 00:05 recommendations 0

After Setting up lots of Solar Power Plants , the Indian government is now  focusing on the HYDRO-POWER . The Government now is forming policies for hydro projects along with the wind and solar energy.
"We are looking at coming up with a pro-active hydro power policy to push stalled projects and explore the possibility of extending benefits for renewable sources like wind and solar to hydro projects beyond 25 MW,"  said the Power Minister , Piyush Goyal.
The projects would have the power capacity of upto 25MW. Hydro power potential in the country has been estimated at about 150 GW, with 50 GW coming from Arunachal Pradesh alone.

The government recently planned to set-up hydro powers on the rivers flowing into Pakistan. And so the hydro power will also be set on most of the others river in India too.

If these projects turn success then the renewable energy capacity in India could reach upto 225GW by the year 2022.

Hydropower is mainly derived from the energy produced by the water current. Hence, very eco-friendly. Thank you for sharing such information to us.

In case of Hydroelectric generator and especially if it involves construction of huge dams, the issue would be more complicated and controversial as it naturally will damage the area. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing, Tanverjit! I hope that increasing the capacity of hydro power can help sustain the community. More citizens will be able to use energy without any carbon emission. Have a great day: )
