OPERATION «  GREAT CLEANING »

In Ivory Coast, cleanness is not leaving on the only charge of citizens. As a matter of fact, the government itself has taken the responsibility of making the country clean with the collaboration of the population. The operation consists in obliging each citizen to engage in rendering his living environment clean.  It is important to describe how this operation will be carried out.

? Do not throw plastics in the street, sweeping are small actions which if each citizen does every day, every morning, every time, I am sure that we will have a wonderful country, but also population in good health?, here are the words of the Minister of the Environment. This words make us understand what the operation consists in and how it will be carried out. In fact, this operation is a call to all citizens to sweep or clean where they live, work or study. It is said that this operation will take place each first Saturday of the month. Each person needs to clean in front of his working, living or studying place each First Saturday of the month. It will be done simultaneously in the whole country, it is thus a national event. But before that date, the populations are asked to carry out very small actions like, like not urinating in public spaces, not throwing plastics in the street, avoid to throw dirt in places non authorized.

To concretize its action, the ministry of the environment with many other authorities such as the First Lady and mayors have started in they own living areas. In fact, in the neighborhood of Riviera where many of the authorities live, we could see the Minister of the environment, the First Lady and many other authorities holding their brooms and other material to clean their area. Therefore, all citizens living on the territory of Ivory are called to do the same in the place of living, working or studying.
